About Brain Power
Support that sees the learner before the label—and helps every child feel understood, capable and proud of how they learn.

Why I started Brain Power
After more than 20 years as a teacher, I have worked with many incredible children who simply learned differently. Brain Power wasn’t created only because I’m a teacher—it was also shaped by my own experiences as a parent.
Watching my son navigate education with dyslexia helped me understand just how important confidence, understanding and recognising strengths really are.
I hold a Level 7 specialist qualification in dyslexia assessment and tuition, Associate Membership of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA), and an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC).
Professional listing: I am listed on the British Dyslexia Association Tutor List.
At the heart of every assessment
Every assessment I carry out is about more than identifying difficulties. It provides a clear picture of strengths and areas for development, so that the learner, their family and their school can move forward with greater understanding.
“Every child deserves to feel understood, capable and proud of how they learn.”
Learners are listened to, included in the conversation and helped to understand their own learning profile.
Clear explanations and practical recommendations help children and families see a positive way forward.
Creativity, reasoning, vocabulary, determination and individual strengths are recognised alongside difficulties.
Where strengths shine
My approach is calm, thorough and child-centred. Feedback is shared accessibly with the learner as well as their family and school, helping everyone move forward with a clearer, shared understanding.
